MoMarket Delivers Accessible e-Commerce in Somaliland and Abroad

My name is Ahmed Muhumed. I am the founder of Mo Market. Mo Market Online is an electronic commerce market by using the different platforms like mobiles, laptops, Tablets and Computers when the person visits our platforms. We submit our customers different ways, we reach some of our customers within 30 minutes, we reach some others within 2 hours we also reach our customers across the regions within 6 hours. The ways we deliver to our customers are also different. We deliver our motorcycle to those who live in Hargeisa and those who are in the areas we have offices; we deliver through cars to our customers who live in other regions while we also use airplanes to deliver to our customer in the neighboring countries.

My idea has come up once a day after I met one of my friends who was a Civil engineer, he was looking for online shopping for interior decorations. After we searched it, we didn’t find it even we couldn’t find local online. We found it oversees online companies. Starting from that day, I decided to establish Online Market which Somalis around the world can make shopping. We also realized that this world is converting to Online and Technology side which there is also an opportunity for it and the people need to find an online market where they can easily find their order. Then we established this inline market and we intended to the people to minimize both their cost and time.

One day while I was using the internet, I was Harhub through social media. At that time, I was looking for an investment and I applied through online, I was shortlisted and trained. After the training, we pitched our business plan and I received $4,000 of equity investment. This was not enough to my business therefore, Harhub once again give me the opportunity to use Tarmiye Crowdfunding platform where I collected other $4,000 from my families and friends and I expanded my business a total of $8,000.

The investment I received from Harhub made me possible to expand my business to other places where it was not working before

The investment I received from Harhub supported us many things like to expand our business and reach places it wasn’t reach before and additional 20 staff who live all the regions and across the areas where Somalis live and distribute our customers’ order.

We would like to advice to the youth to showcase their business ideas to everyone who can get support them.
